Many of you who frequent our TeamSpeak3 servers may have hit an unexpected roadblock on Monday evening trying to join the server. Due to some network problem in the server host's Chicago data-center, all RKS services based out of Chicago failed for over four hours. Usually when there's a failure of the primary Teamspeak server, we can all get onto the backup server. Unfortunately this was a downtime that seems to have affected a significant portion of the data center and our other server also in Chicago lost connectivity to the internet.
As a result, it has become apparent that there needs to be a better way of informing the RKS members as well as guests who use our services a method to obtain the latest information from RKS should our main website go down. The solution has been a simple website run on a completely separate network that should in theory be unaffected by downtime of other parts of RKS Clan. This website is now open for anyone to see at http://status.rkszone.net and it is hosted on a shared hosting solution. Should there be any problem connecting to the TeamSpeak server or to this website, head on to that website for updates. Also available on that website is the server stats for all of our servers (RAM and network usage) as well as various services RKS runs (MSC FN).
The website is still being setup at this point and expect it to offer a lot more information in the coming days.
